Request and approve right inside any monday item or subitem — no column setup required.

Getting started

1. Install Greenlight Approvals from the marketplace onto your account.
2. Open any item → click the Approvals tab in the item view.
3. Add one or more reviewers → click Start.
4. Reviewers get a monday notification and can approve or reject — with a comment if your board requires one.

No column setup is required: Greenlight creates an Approval status and an Approvers column automatically the first time you request an approval (or you can point it at existing columns — see Settings).

Creating an approval

• Name — every round is named (default “Approval round 1”), editable inline.
• Message — optional context shown to reviewers and in the emailed share page.
• Reviewers — pick people or a whole team (teams expand to their members).
• Rules — per stage, choose how many approvals/rejections finalize the round: any, all, or N of M.
• Attachments — the requester can attach files (posted to the item’s Updates thread) before starting.

Multi-stage approvals (Pro)

Add stages to require sequential sign-off (e.g., Manager → Finance). Each stage has its own reviewers and its own any/all/N-of-M rule. The next stage starts only after the previous one is satisfied.

External / seat-free reviewers (Pro)

Need a client or someone without a monday seat to sign off?

1. On the approval, click Share and label the reviewer (e.g., “Jane @ ClientCo”).
2. Send them the secure link.
3. They open a self-contained page showing only that approval — no monday login, no board access — and approve or reject. Their decision is recorded in the same audit history as any reviewer.

Links expire after 14 days; re-request to refresh.

Automations (Pro)

Use the monday Workflow builder:

• Auto-request an approval — trigger When status changes or When an item is created → action Request approval using template.
• Set a status on decision — trigger When an approval is decided (pick Approved/Rejected) → action Change status.

Reminders & mute (Pro)

In board settings, set a reminder cadence (hours). Undecided reviewers get a gentle nudge on that cadence — capped so nobody gets a bell-storm. Any reviewer can mute a specific approval from its ··· menu.

Settings: columns, comments, reminders

Open the gear in the Approvals tab:

• Require comments — Never / On rejection / On approval / Always.
• Advance on rejection — whether a rejection still moves a multi-stage flow on.
• Status column — Auto-create (default) or Use an existing status column (then pick your existing status + people columns).
• Reminder cadence — hours between nudges (0 = off).

Templates

Save a reusable approval configuration (stages, reviewers, message) as a template and apply it to new approvals — including from automations.

Approvals Inbox widget (Pro)

Add the Approvals Inbox widget to a dashboard to see, in one place, every approval waiting on you and every one you requested.

Billing

Greenlight uses flat, per-account pricing through the monday marketplace — no per-approval charges. Manage your plan from your monday account’s billing.

Your data & privacy

Greenlight stores only approval-related data, in monday’s own account-scoped storage, and calls no third-party services. On uninstall your data is deleted after a 7-day grace window. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

• “No staff/approvers found” — make sure reviewers are added before Start.
• Status not updating — check Settings → Status column points at the right column (in adopt-existing mode).
• External link shows “invalid or expired” — links last 14 days; re-request to generate a fresh one.
